Champions League Final

Well, this is it. 3 hrs more to the biggest match of the season, the UEFA Champions League Final, pitting FC Barcelona against Arsenal FC. I can hardly wait.

well, to many pple, esp the neutrals, this is probably a dream final. both teams are reknowned for playing beautiful, attractive football and are highly entertaining to watch when in full flight. both clubs also have some outstanding individual players who are highly revered among fans.

for Arsenal, there are Henry and the young Fabregas. Fabregas has really matured and developed into a fine footballer this season. But Henry will be the man Arsenal will look to carry them. He truly is a world-class footballer, blessed wif great pace and technique and a player who can win matches on his own.

Talk abt Barca, and the names Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Messi come to mind. Eto'o complements Ronnie perfectly, and their partnership has seen him rack up more than 30 goals alrdy this season. Messi is a player i like a lot, and i believe he has a very bright future ahead of him. To be as good as he is at the age of 18 is amazing.

And of cos, last but not least Ronaldinho. Wat else can i say abt this man? Some say he is a footballing God. i can't help but agree when i witness wat he does wif a football. Stunned is a common reaction.

Many say this match will come down to Ronaldinho vs Henry. I dunno whether tat will be the case, but i really hope the match will live up to its hype. and no prizes for guessing who i hope will win this personal duel.

Go R10!

Remember to wait for the lift next time

Something really funny happened the other day. It was Thursday nite, the day before Vesak day. Met up wif Eugene for a drink, had a chat and we decided to go play pool. So off we went to Katong Shopping Center.

We went to the pool center downstairs, but it was alrdy closed. We were actually thinking of heading to East Coast to try our luck when the security guard told us there was a pool center on the 3rd floor.

We played for quite a long time, (btw the final score was 10-4 NOT in favour of Eugene), then we left arnd 300. as we walked out, there was this big group of malaysians waiting for the lift. Thinking tat we would have to wait a long while, gene suggested walking down the stairs. and so we went.

When we finally reached the first storey, to our horror the door was locked. which meant we couldnt get into the building. so the only way out was thru the back door which led to the back alley. so we took tat route, hoping to find a way out.

then we saw this big gate in front of us. the bad news was it was chained. well, being the macho guys tat we are, there was no way we were gg to walk back to the building and take the lift again. so we decided to climb the gate. No big deal rite, execept for 1 thing. The gate had barbed wire at the top.

I took wat shd be considered as the safer route, using the roof of an adjacent guardhouse to skip the barbed wire part. my buddy, on the other hand, wisely chose to take the direct route straight over the barb wire.

Suddenly, as we were both climbing, there was this loud sound. Prrakkk! and it continued and got louder. i looked across and there was gene, halfway over the barb wire, with his bermudas caught in it. when we both finally got to the other side, only then did i see that there was a huge gaping hole in his berms, right below the backside. i was practically laughing aloud.

i was fine, except tat my new watch got a scratch on it-sim tia. so there we were, cursing and swearing, saying how we shd have just waited for the lift. the worst thing was, after all this, we were now much further fr the car and had to do a big detour.

i dunno why, but things like this just always seem to happen to the both of us when we're together. i can recall so many "good" memories of our past adventures lol. oh well, hope there's more to come.

Virign Vote

This Sat, at the age of 26, i'll be casting my virgin vote. If i had still been staying at my old place, i would probably never have to vote for a very long time, thanks to lao goh and co. Kinda looking forward to it actually haha. i think it'll be pretty interesting. i'll be voting for the Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC, which will be contested by the PAP and the SDA.

So far, i think this GRC, although being a six member one, is not regarded as one of the "hotter" ones, such as Aljunied, Hougang or Potong Pasir. One reason is that Punggol and Sengkang are relatively new areas without the history of the other GRCs. another factor might be tat people don't think the SDA will be able to put up a fight against the Teo Chee Hean led PAP in this ward.

well, i haven really made up my mind on who to vote for yet, although i'm 70% sure already. Well who knows, maybe after attending somre rallies, i might be swayed over to the other side lol. anyway, i think the final results of the elections could be very surprising. I can't really explain it, but let's just wait and see.
