Burnt Out

Now i understand wat the professional soccer players mean when they complain that they play too many games. In the past week alone, i alrdy played 4 soccer matches. Heck, i think the amount of football i played was more than the amount of work i actually did.(disclaimer: tats only because there isn't much work for me to do in the 1st place)

Sometimes I feel as if i'm oso back in my sec sch days, just like my students now haha. Cos tat was the last time i played so much football in a week if i remember correctly. but guess wat? i just keep coming back for more. 1 example-when i finish playing in sch and return home after work, i throw down my bag, change into a pair of shorts, put on my shoes and go outside the house to practise with my ball. i only stop after i am totally drenched wif sweat.

Of cos, all this does take its toll on my body. Blisters can be seen on my soles, and my calves ache and so does my head sometimes, maybe fr too much heading haha. But i can truly say i enjoy fooling wif my football very much, probably even more so than when i was younger. oh ya, can u imagine driving fr my place all the way to Marine Parade just to look for people who were playing football in a street soccer court or basketball court just so me and my frens could get some action. hahaha think we'll convert to pros soon. we'll still looking for a couple of players to form our own team so if u're reading this, feel free to apply. Withdrawal Symptoms

Finally, after 1 whole month and 64 matches, the World Cup 2006 has drawn to a close. The champions turned out to be the men from the land of pasta, armani and the mafia. not many would have expected them to win it, but tats football. The BEST teams (Brazil) dun always win.

More importantly, I am experiencing withdrawal symptoms rite now, like many others i believe. after getting caught up in all the euphoria and excitement, now it seems like something is missing. I had alrdy settled into the routine of wake up, go to work, come back, watch soccer and sleep. its kinda weird knowing that there's nothing to look forward to when i go home now.

as for work, well its still pretty much the same. i'm still struggling to keep myself occupied. god knows when i will actually get some substantial stuff to do. i feel so restless sometimes. oh well, in the meantime i'll just try to get to know more of the teachers and see where i can help out.

oh ya, played some soccer on Sunday. I played with Theo and his frens. Mara also dropped by but he was rather unlucky cos when he arrived, it started raining heavily haha. it felt good to just be able to play some football although they had a different style of play compared to mine.
cant complain i guess. hopefully, we'll be able to get a couple more guys and form our own team.
