Those Were The Days

I went to watch TMNT over the weekend and it was rather entertaining. I was a huge fan of the turtles when they first appeared. I remember i had all 4 of their toys plus the other characters as well, and i was totally hooked on the cartoon. My favourite turtle at the time was Donatello. Maybe i just liked purple back then lol. I even kept newspaper clippings abt them! alrite cut me some slack, i was like 9 years old then.

watching TMNT brings me back to the topic of cartoons of yesteryear, which i was discussing wif Theo recently. there were so many memorable and classic cartoons in my time. They sure dun make cartoons like they used to anymore. I remember back then, i would rush home after school just to catch the 6.30pm cartoons everyday, without fail. I oso made it a point to catch those that were shown on weekends as well.

There were so many that i enjoyed watching. He-man, Transformers, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Gummi Bears, Visionaries, Bravestar, Mask, Centurions, Garfield, Mickey and gang, Chip N Dale, Pink Panther, Yogi Bear, Dennis the Menace, Care Bears, Smurfs and of cos, TMNT and lots more. Come to think of it, i really do miss those cartoons. If only they could be shown on TV again, i tell u, i would stay home just to catch all these classics.

ahhh...the gd old days. Kids nowadays dun get to enjoy all those great shows bcos they are all preoccupied wif sch, the Internet and PS2 or XBox. Sheesh, they sure are missing out a lot. I'm glad i was born in that era. It probably wun happen, but i still really hope to see some of these shows on TV again or maybe the big screen in future. Cowabunga!

I'm BACK!

So here I am, back at my desk in school writing this. In the end, i managed to 'survive' my reservist stint in camp. To be honest, it wasnt tat tough or physically demanding. for me, it was more of a mental thingy. cos it gets really boring when there are no activities, esp at night. in fact, even when there were activities, i wasnt really interested to take part. just tat i didnt have a choice. the amount of time spent waiting and doing all those administrative stuff still hasnt changed 1 bit since i left 4 yrs ago.

as for seeing my mates again, well it was fun. lots of jokes and laughter. those who were 'blur' 4 years ago were still blur, those who were childish were still childish, and those who were siao on were still the same. surprisingly, i enjoyed putting on the uniform more than anything else. maybe it's bcos i know tat once i put on the uniform, i can basically just abt sit anywhere, slp anywhere, do anything and not worry abt getting the uniform dirty. not like when u're wearing civilian clothes.

at times, it felt like BMT all over again. but of cos, it was much slacker. now i noe wat it really feels like to be an NS man. SHIOK! hahaha. u dun have to ask for permission to do things, u take yr own sweet time, u can wear yr uniform anyway u like, u dun have to be fearful of the senior officers, basically u just dun give a damn.

but if given a choice, i wld still rather stay here in my civilian life than go back again. it doesnt appeal to me at all. but wat to do, we dun have a choice. the cost of citizenship. blah! oh well, until my next ICT then.

Just Do It

Alrite, it's a Tues morning and I'm in school writing this post. Hmm, sounds just like a typical working day for me. Anyway, i'll be off for In Camp Training in a couple of days. Not exactly looking forward to it. I haven really put on the uniform for more than 4 years now. wonder if it still fits haha.

I hate the packing part as well. so much stuff to bring! damn. and then when the training is over, i've got to bring everything back and put it back nicely again. Sheesh! another thing is i'm not exactly relishing the 'opportunity to enjoy the excellent outfield terrain'. Especially if we have to sleep out in the open again. haven done tat for a long time man. oh well, 1 week will pass quickly.

on a brighter note, Man U picked up a rather fortuitous win over liverpool. but tats exactly how u win championships; by racking up all these 1-0 wins. hopefully, we'll be able to sustain this run all the way until the end. i just hope we wun be too affected by the loss of scholesy, larsson, ole, and maybe even rooney.

oh and the champions league resumes tonite! watch and see how Barca stage the incredible fightback with Ronnie starring for the Catalans. and oso how man u are gg to beat lille and progress to the quarter finals. oh ya the upcoming United XI vs European XI shd be a real cracker. wonder if they're gonna show it on tv here.

ok then, time to do some work. lol!
