New Frens in Sch
Today was kinda interesting. At least the later half of the day haha. I finally made my 1st frens in sch. But guess wat, my new frens aren't the sch staff, but instead are a bunch of sec 3 netball gals. wahahaha. it all started like this. sometime ago, i took my man u cup to go get some tea. as i was returning to the office, there was this bunch of netball gals resting along the corridor. One of them saw my cup and exclaimed:" Man u rocks!" To which i turned and replied "Yeah!" before entering the office. Then today, i took my man u tumbler to get some water. once again, as i was returning to the office, the same gal again said:" hey man u! man u rocks!" I said "yeah!" then she said, "so who are u supporting for the world cup?" i replied,"Brazil!" she looked disgusted haha. "wat abt england" she asked. I replied wif 2 words "England Sucks!" The rest of the gals burst out laughing and i entered the office.later on, as i went to the toilet, i saw the bunch of them kicking a football around in the courtyard after their netball practice. I immediately felt the itch (the itch to play football u idiot, not wat u're thinking). anyway i walked over and the same gal, who i later found out was called Amanda, said "hey Man u, come and play leh" i didnt need a 2nd invitation. It was real fun, even though the gals were naturally not very good at football haha. It was the 1st time i ever played football wearing shirt and pants. i wouldnt recommed anyone to try it. I even took off my shoes and played barefooted lol.Oh ya, one thing i found really funny. They kept calling me "cher" even after i had alrdy clarified to them that i was a CCPE. but after a while, i just accepted it. one sad thing though. when i asked one of them to guess my age, her first guess was 32! #@$%! sad sad...i enjoyed it so much tat when i was done, it was alrdy 6 plus. and i had was supposed to leave at 5! but no complains, i really enjoyed kicking a ball again in sch. turns back the clock haha. they even made me promise to join them every friday afternoon. if i'm free and got nothing on hand, i certainly would be more than happy to do so. just got to remember to bring my shoes and exercise attire next time. I went home with cuts on my feet. maybe i'll like the sch after all haha.
29th of June
This is kinda embarrassing but i shall just put it down anyway. yesterday nite i was home watching my HK drama serial as usual. It was the last episode. It's a serial about a batch of police trainees. So in the last episode, their instructor was killed. When the trainees realised his death and started feeling very sad and crying, to my surprise, i actually felt the same way as them. i really felt the loss. tears did well up in my eyes. but the funny thing is, i never felt much abt the instructor's character previously. but when the realisation that he was gone sunk in, the emotions just happened naturally.maybe partly it's oso bcos i never expected such an ending. i tot it would be a happy finale. just goes to show that we never know wat is gg to happen in the future and most imptly, we shdnt take things or pple for granted, cos u only realise their value when they're gone. by then, it's usually too late. sounds cliched, but it's the truth.to my credit(if there's any left haha), i quickly picked myself up and told myself "hey it's just a show" and i was fine after tat. i guess i'm someone who is easily attached to a place or to someone, even if the time spent together is very short. got to try to be more "unfeeling" haha.oh, last nite's sleep was the longest and best i had in 3 wks. why? bcos there was no match yesterday. No match=very much needed sleep. tonite will be the same as well. i want to get as much sleep as possible. so as to prepare for the quarters! finally got my jobscope earlier this morning. kinda intimidating when i counted the duties i am supposed to carry out. but i expected it to be more or less like tat. got to do a lot of liasing wif teachers; hope they're all nice pple! So, looks like the days of being idle are finally over.
Days of being Idle
Cant believe i'm writing this entry in sch. I shdnt even be here in the 1st place. i shd be home. i wana go home! haha...went for the Gebiz course in the morning. but coming back to sch after lunch really sucks. i'm so sleepy and as usual, i dun have much to do yet. maybe later i'll go take a look at how the various CCAs are conducted. reminds me of my sec sch days lol. maybe i'll go join the soccer team(tat reminds me,i've got my exercise attire and shoes in the car). gd idea!seeing these CCAs reminds me of my own sec sch days. ahhhh...the carefree lifestyle, one where ur only responsibilty was to make sure u got gd grades. how i wish i could go back once again. oh well, at least i'm still in close proximity wif these CCAs haha.ok, i got less than an hr more to go. counting down happily haha. oh ya, i wanted to get a Police watch but they apparently it's out of stock. damn, i really liked tat watch. but i got the watch shop owner to order it for me, so hopefully i'll be able to get it.P.S. Brazil and Spain to make itJC"Lifelong Learners Impacting the Community"
Mes Amis
Oh well, Dad's away on holiday wif my sis, so i got the whole house to myself. I can't go because I just started work and it wldnt be nice to take a week's leave so soon. Besides, i wldnt miss the World Cup for anything lol. Well, it's kinda quiet at home but at least i got my fren to accompany me to watch the matches haha. any of u guys interested to come over just let me know haha. And the good thing is, i get to use the car for a week too. tat will let me get some extra sleep in the morning.the issue wif the agency has finally been resolved. phew! i was getting tired of the whole thing. hopefully everything will be fine fr now on. time to get on with the serious work. oh, the World Cup is into the knockout stages and all of the favourites are there. this is where it gets interesting, cos the teams only get one chance to progress. lose, and they go home. no 2nd chance. i'll still be rooting for Brazil. they haven really performed yet, but now would be a gd time for them to get going.Picks for later: England and Portugal.
So Far, So Good
I've just completed my 4th day at work and it's been alrite so far. Alrite bcos although i've been bored to tears everyday cos i dun have anything to do, but at least the staff i've met are nice. They didnt push their stuff over to me and they've been kind enuff to make me feel welcome. but oh well, when sch starts next wk, i bet i'll be busy as hell. And i am just beginning to realise the magnitude of the effect the World Cup has had on me. I can honestly say that for this 1 month, i wun have a life other than football, football and more football. its become a routine alrdy. now, it's football before i slp and wake up to go to work, and when i come back, its football again until i slp. I LOVE this life! hahaha. I really do. No wonder it comes around only once every 4 yrs. I think most gals would be grateful for tat lol. I've more or less personalised my desk in sch. Got my essentials, like water bottle, cup and snacks(crucial). thinking of ways to spruce up my desk further. maybe a few photos wld be a gd idea =) but wat i really want is for them to assign me the laptop so at least i got something to work wif. oh well, it'll come soon i belive. In the meantime, just got to bear wif the tea breaks, storybk reading and smsing. hahaha. bedtime!
The longest 90 mins
Woah last nite was one hell of a nite for me. i think it was the 1st time i ever watched a football match with such immense stress on myself...and i dun think i ever wished so strongly for for a goal from the team i took.
all this resulted fr some super big time cock up at the betting site. but i guess i cant blame anyone, it was my own action and i can only say that it was pure bad luck. my world cup betting almost ended before it even began ahahaha. i still remember i went to bed praying fervently for a miracle. thankfully my prayers were answered. Phew! i dun wana ever experience tat feeling again.
Now all i can do is try to salvage the situation...hopefully things will go smoothly. This morning woke up real early to go RT and guess wat? we eneded up playing soccer lor...maybe i shd have stayed at hm and caught my beauty slp instead. dun seem to be getting enuff of it nowadays.
I've oso been thinking abt a conversation i had last nite wif a fren. i think maybe i got a bit too carried away. as in i think i shdnt be too judgmental of others. after all, i dun think i can say tat i know these pple very well. and even if i do, i dun like to judge others too much. for me i just try my best to get along well wif others and not focus too much on their strengths and weaknesses. in my opinion, keeping it simple means being happy as well.
The time has come
Well well, the 9th of June has finally arrived! The World Cup officially begins hahaha! One whole month of the biggest, most spectacular show on Earth. Full of top class players displaying dazzling skills and dishing out the best football. A whole array of top class players guarantees a month long enjoyment of the highest quality. Cant wait for the opening ceremony rite now.Ok, now back to myself. the trip to JB was a gd one, where i made a number of new frens and had a gd time as well. Supper was certainly the highlight of the day hahaha. however, at this moment, i'm wondering whether i'll actually get to do the job i applied for.To cut it short, there has been a change in our mindsets after a number of us realised that we were being shortchanged in a number of ways relating to our contracts. after discussing it many times today, the decision has been made. we're gonna confront the guy on Monday.Well, i think wat we are asking for is not unreasonable. rather it's things that we shd be entitled to, and not because we are privileged. as such, we definitely have reason to take action. the more i think abt it, the more i cant understand why i signed the contract, just like my fren Jenny haha. hopefully everthing can be settled amicably on Mon and we can continue with our jobs with our minds reassured. Another 10 mins to go to the opening ceremony! woo hoo!
